Add a CommentRegardless of its big-name cast and its considerable-sized budget, I view Suddenly Last Summer as one of the most ugly movie-experiences of all-time.... I'm no prude, but, still, I consider this film, that generously mixes into its vicious, back-stabbing story elements of ruthless blackmail, the threat of lobotomy to obliterate a dark secret, and the lecherous sexual molestation of naive, teenage boys by a self-righteous homosexual man, to be completely distasteful and geared to a mentality that sinks even lower than gutter-level.... I can't remember the last time that any other movie left such a lasting bad taste in my mouth.
Overly dramatic, over acted and highly improbable. The Katherine Hepburn character was interesting and it's worth watching this movie for its historical value.
